Maoming Port's Bohe New Port Area Completes First Green Methanol Vessel Loading and Export

MAOMING — The tanker vessel Dujuan safely berthed at Berth E11 of the East Chemical Terminal in Maoming Port’s Bohe New Port Area on August 2. On August 3, the vessel completed the loading of green methanol manufactured by CIMC Green Energy Low Carbon Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. (CIMC Green Power) and set sail for Shanghai.

The successful completion of this operation marks the official opening of a specialized maritime export corridor for green methanol at Maoming Port, achieving a major operational breakthrough in its green energy storage and logistics division.

The East Chemical Terminal at Bohe New Port Area features specialized chemical berths complemented by comprehensive storage infrastructure and closed-loop conveying systems.

To ensure compliant and secure handling, storage, and loading of green methanol, Maoming Port Group engaged in deep pre-operational planning with CIMC Green Power. The port implemented targeted operational protocols, including professional tank cleaning, end-to-end closed-loop transport, and leak-prevention controls. Concurrently, aligned with International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) standards, the terminal established a full chain-of-custody tracking system, providing robust compliance and operational infrastructure to support green methanol logistics.

Looking ahead, Maoming Port plans to deepen strategic partnerships with green energy enterprises, enhance its end-to-end service capabilities across the green methanol value chain, and build a regional green methanol distribution hub in western Guangdong—strengthening its role in green marine fuel supply across South China.
