National Stadium, also known as the "Bird's Nest"

The National Stadium, also known as the "Bird's Nest", is the home stadium of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the opening and closing ceremony venue of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and the world's first "Double Olympic Opening and Closing ceremony venue". As a landmark building representing the national image, the Bird's Nest has gone beyond pure sports or architectural concepts, carrying profound social significance, and has become a platform for international exchanges and an important window for displaying China's image.

The National Stadium sits on a pedestal platform that rises slowly from the ground, and spectators can reach the stadium from the Olympic Park along the pedestal platform. The north side of the base is a sinking warm-up field, which is connected with the competition field in the home court through the athletes' channel. The part above the base of the stadium has seven floors, including spectator service facilities, media work areas, VIP reception areas and commercial areas. The section below the base has a total of three levels, with zero internal loop, parking and a large number of functional rooms. The bowl stands are divided into three layers: upper, middle and lower, and boxes and seating areas are arranged between the upper and middle stands.

In the construction of the National Stadium, advanced energy-saving design and environmental protection measures have been adopted, such as good natural ventilation and natural lighting, comprehensive recycling of rainwater, the utilization of renewable geothermal energy, and the application of solar photovoltaic power generation technology, which is a veritable large-scale "green building".
