Inner Mongolia Approves 1,000-Ton CO₂-to-Methanol Project with RMB 11 Million Investment

July 31 – The 1,000-ton-per-year CO₂ hydrogenation-to-methanol project developed by Inner Mongolia Junzheng Chemical Co., Ltd. has received official project filing approval, marking another step in the company's efforts to advance carbon utilization technologies.

· Construction Period: August 2026 – August 2028

· Project Scope: Construction of a production line capable of producing 1,000 tonnes of methanol annually via CO₂ hydrogenation, together with supporting facilities including power distribution equipment and automated control systems.

According to the project filing information, the project was officially registered through Inner Mongolia's online investment project approval platform. The filing was completed by the Wuda District Development and Reform Bureau on July 30, 2026, under project code 2607-150304-04-01-249133.

The project aims to demonstrate the conversion of captured carbon dioxide into methanol through hydrogenation, supporting the development of low-carbon chemical production and carbon utilization technologies.
