Datang (Danzhou) New Energy Co., Ltd.’s integrated wind, solar, hydrogen and energy storage green methanol production base project in Hainan received project filing approval on October 21, according to the project information provided.

On December 22, 2025, three parties signed a memorandum of understanding: CIMC Green Energy Low-Carbon Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CIMC Enric; Datang (Danzhou) Ocean Energy Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Datang Hainan Energy Development Co., Ltd.; and the Administrative Committee of Yangpu Economic Development Zone in Danzhou.
Under the agreement, with support from the Yangpu Administrative Committee, CIMC Enric and Datang Hainan will explore the development of a green methanol demonstration project in Danzhou that uses locally generated new energy. The project is designed to produce 100,000–200,000 tonnes of green methanol annually.
The three parties will also promote industrial cooperation across Hainan’s green methanol value chain, covering production, certification, trading and bunkering. They will jointly explore the high-value utilisation of biomass and the development of related supply chains.
CIMC Enric will draw on its expertise in core chemical equipment, process technologies and engineering services for biomass gasification and methanol synthesis to advance the project’s engineering design, construction, operation and product sales.
