Spotlight on the Competition: A Victory of Strength

The competition was co-hosted by the China Hydrogen Alliance and the Administrative Committee of Qingdao West Coast New Area, bringing together innovative hydrogen energy companies from across the country, covering the entire industrial chain including hydrogen production and purification, hydrogen storage and transportation, fuel cell systems, key materials, and core components. The competition adopted a "10-minute project presentation + 5-minute expert Q&A" format, with 7 technical experts and investor judges conducting rigorous evaluations across dimensions such as core technological strength, market prospects, engineering capabilities, and team potential.

Wenjing Energy won the championship with its outstanding performance, impressing the judges with its self-developed high-performance fuel cell stacks, systems, and electrolyzer technologies, as well as a clear path to industrialization.

Strong R&D Capabilities: Results of Years of Accumulation

Leveraging over 20 years of technological expertise from the Fuel Cell Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wenjing Energy boasts a dedicated R&D team accounting for over 60% of its workforce, including senior engineers and Ph.D. holders. The company possesses full-chain forward development capabilities, spanning from materials and components to stacks, systems, and hydrogen production equipment.

The company's product portfolio includes:

Fuel Cell Stacks and Systems: 330kW-class metal bipolar plate fuel cell stacks and 280kW-class fuel cell power systems;

PEM Electrolyzers: 250 Nm³/h-class, achieving high-purity and highly reliable hydrogen production through innovations such as catalyst layer microstructure optimization, variable-diameter flow channel design, and frame-free technology;

AEM Electrolyzers: 50 Nm³/h-class, targeting cutting-edge technology pathways.

Competition Review: 24 Companies Competing Across the Full Industrial Chain

The 24 participating companies (including alternates) covered the entire upstream, midstream, and downstream hydrogen industrial chain – from hydrogen production and purification, ultra-low temperature technologies, and environmental protection equipment, to fuel cell systems, key materials, core components, testing equipment, and hydrogen safety. This fully demonstrated the innovative vitality and diversified landscape of China's hydrogen energy industry.

Promoting Industry Development Through Competition

Liu Wei, Secretary-General of the China Hydrogen Alliance, noted during the competition that over the past five years, the competition has attracted more than 500 hydrogen energy companies to participate, helped over 60 companies secure financing and sign landing agreements, and assisted more than 30 companies in being recognized as national or provincial-level specialized and sophisticated enterprises. Wenjing Energy's championship victory is not only proof of its technological strength but also a strong endorsement of its industrialization capabilities.

During the competition, the China Hydrogen Alliance also organized the "Traveling with Hydrogen" industry research activity, during which participating companies and investment institution representatives visited the Hydrogen Energy Building Industry Exhibition Hall, Penghua Hydrogen's stack production line, the Qingdao Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park integrated station project, the Green Hydrogen Equipment Verification and Testing Center, as well as leading enterprises such as Dongjiakou Port and Jinneng Chemical. These visits provided in-depth insights into park development, hydrogen equipment, port logistics, and the utilization of industrial by-product hydrogen, facilitating deep connections between participating projects and local industrial resources and application scenarios.

Looking Ahead to a Bright Hydrogen Future

Following the Qingdao stop, the 2026 Hydrogen Energy Specialized and Sophisticated Entrepreneurship Competition will continue to expand into more industrial application scenarios, featuring specialized events such as the Hydrogen UAV Application Challenge and the Marine Hydrogen Energy Special Competition, and will continue to host technological competitions, project roadshows, and industry matchmaking. The competition will further play its role in technology screening, scenario validation, and industry connection, accelerating the landing of more innovative and commercially viable hydrogen projects.

Taking this championship as a new starting point, Wenjing Energy will continue to deepen its core technologies, accelerate product iteration and industrialization, and work hand in hand with industrial chain partners to promote the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to the global green energy transition.
